ACTORS Hugo Weaving and Abbie Cornish will honour what is supposedly their profession’s worst nightmare, children and animals.
They will be celebrity guests tomorrow for the third annual Voiceless Grants Awards, which will present $145,000 to 16 projects Australia-wide, based on animal protection and awareness issues.
As ambassador for the animal fund Voiceless, Weaving is to present the grant awards at the Sherman Galleries in Sydney’s Paddington.
Cornish, who will star in the The Golden Age with Cate Blanchett, is ambassador for Voiceless’ education arm, the Animal Club, which will present $5000 to the school that’s contributed most to animal welfare.
"Children have a natural compassion for animals and anything that can help foster this is a cause worth supporting," Cornish said.
