Fastnet Film’s latest co-production ‘Strangerland’ has been greenlit for production, with Nicole Kidman (‘The Hours’, ‘Moulin Rouge’) and Guy Pearce (‘Memento’, ‘Prometheus’) attached to star.
Fastnet Films and Dragonfly Pictures’ Irish Australian co-production ‘Strangerland’ has now been green lit and is due to go into production in early 2014.The film is being co-financed by Worldview Entertainment, the Irish Film Board and Screen Australia with Wildbunch on board for international sales.
‘Strangerland’ will be directed by Kim Farrant, and star Nicole Kidman (‘The Hours’, ‘Moulin Rouge’), Guy Pearce (‘Memento’, ‘Prometheus’) and Hugo Weaving (‘The Matrix’, ‘The Lord of the Rings’).
With a script by Fiona Seres and Irish screenwriter Michael Kinirons, ‘Strangerland’ details the steady unravelling of one couple’s lives after their two teenage children go missing in the Australian outback.
The film will be produced by Macdara Kelleher of Fastnet Films and Naomi Wenck of Dragonfly pictures.
Production is set to begin in early 2014 and a projected release date in 2015.
