The program has been released for next year’s Adelaide Film Festival, which will showcase some of the nation’s best filmmakers.
The Festival poster features a huge eye with a theme of embracing the world by going to the cinema.
More than 130 films from about 50 countries will be shown during the two-week festival next February, including a number of emerging Australian filmmakers.
Festival director Katrina Sedgwick says the festival itself is investing in a dozen of the works that will be shown.
"We’ve announced our investment fund slate for 2009, which features 12 different works – 11 of which are made for the screen and one of which is made for a gallery space," she said.
"There’s an incredible range of new Australian feature films, documentaries and shorts that have been generated out of South Australia that we’ll be including in our program."
The films to be shown will include Last Ride, featuring Hugo Weaving, which was shot in the Flinders Ranges of outback SA.
