ANOTHER day, another award for Australia’s most exciting Golden Globe prospect Jacki Weaver.
The veteran Aussie actor collected yet another gong – this time for Best Supporting Actress at the National Board of Review’s gala event in New York.
It’s the latest of many international accolades for the 63-year-old Animal Kingdom actor who, with odds of 4-1, is firming as a serious contender for a Golden Globe win on Monday.
Already she has picked up the Australian Film Institute’s Best Actress award – along with a Critics’ Choice Movie Award and a Washington Area Film Critics nomination.
Weaver, who was in New York with Animal Kingdom director David Michod, is hard at work on the promotional trail in the US, having wrapped her season with the Sydney Theatre Company’s Uncle Vanya with Cate Blanchett.
STC’s Uncle Vanya is in talks for a run on Broadway.
