Inside Film Awards and Time Out host the premiere of Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom, the hottest Australian film of the year and recipient of a five-star review in the July issue of Time Out out today, premiered to thunderous applause and late-night revelry in Sydney last night.

Co-presented by Time Out and Inside Film Awards, Animal Kingdom's Sydney Premiere was attended by a who's who of Australian cinema including Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush and international star Hugo Weaving and AFI-winning directors Gillian Armstrong and Cate Shortland. Animal Kingdom's much-lauded cast and crew were also in attendance: director David Michod and stars Ben Mendelsohn, Jacki Weaver and Sullivan Stapleton.

These A-listers and over 434 guests piled into the Palace Academy Twin cinema for the first glimpse of the powerful crime thriller before partying hard at nearby Fringe Bar on Fat Yak beer, Mad Fish wine and Buffalo Trace bourbon. Messrs Rush and Weaving were among those spotted being politely evicted from the venue shortly before 3am.
