Sunday Herald Sun AUSTRALIAN actor Hugo Weaving shares his thoughts. The Hobbit IT'S probably right that Pete's (Jackson) doing it. I was kind of interested in the tonal difference between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and what that might be and thought Guillermo Del Toro would certainly be able to bring that difference in tone to the piece. But many years ago when I left the set, I remember saying, "See you on The Hobbit" and they said, "No, no, we are not doing The Hobbit". I thought, "Of course you will do The Hobbit" and it seems fitting that he is. The late Bill Hunter I VERY clearly remember Bill on the set of Priscilla as being so supportive and kind of a champion for me. I always looked up to him enormously - didn't really know him that well - but was drawn to him. He was a fantastically warm-hearted, gorgeous man who will be missed incredibly. Making Transformers with Michael Bay via Skype I WAS doing lines and didn't know who I was talking to and didn't know what I was saying and didn't quite understand the line. I find that level of lack of communication staggering. That's a very weird job for me because I really don't know anything about it. That's my own disinterest. I am slightly ashamed to talk about it, actually, because I am doing it.
