The Comic-Con ’10 panel for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER was brief mainly because it was already running late but Director Joe Johnston, star Chris Evans who plays Steve Rogers/Captain America and fans’ favorite Hugo Weaving
who plays the villain Johann Schmidt/Red Skull attended the panel. But
before they took the stage, we were all treated to a teaser for CAPTAIN
AMERICA: THE AVENGER. It didn’t show much except archive footage from
WWII since the bombing of Pearl Harbor and taglines lead up the
anticipation for the first avenger. A big sign of the shield was on the
screen and then bam! Chris Evans in CAPTAIN AMERICA
costume. They also showed a footage from the film, an unfinished cut but
it had something to do with how Johann Schmidt came to be Red Skull. I
don’t want to spoil too much but he entered some type of ancient tomb
where he came across an object feared by the tomb’s caretaker but mocked
by Schmidt. I got some more photos after the jump…
