The film's director, Joe Johnston, unveils the official movie logo for the villainous HYDRA during a recent Comic Con interview
One of the biggest surprises to come out of the Captain America movie coverage this past week was the revelation that the film's antagonist, Red Skull (played by Hugo Weaving), works not just for the Nazi Party but also the clandestine organization HYDRA. During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Joe Johnston held up the his phone which has the first official logo of HYDRA. For those who are unaware, HYDRA is a world-wide subversive organization dedicated to global domination. At its height, Hydra was the most extensive, powerful, and dangerous such organization in history. The man responsible for the creation of HYDRA is Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker. It's a safe bet to assume that HYDRA will have a major influence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; and more than likely will be featured in The Avengers movie.
