In comedy drama series Rake Cleaver Greene is a criminal defence barrister who takes on the cases that other people consider undefendable, in fact taking on the hopeless gives him a real thrill and he'll do whatever it takes defend and save life's truly lost souls despite being complete hopeless himself.

Seperated from his wife and son Greene is living above a cafe in dodgy Kings Cross, Greene is a man of many different faces, to his ex-wife he is 'unreliable', to his son he's 'a mate'. To his learned friends at the bar table he is 'a real wag', to his jurors he is 'hilarious', and to most judges he is 'an outrage'. To the Tax Office, he is 'a defendant', to a certain brothel owner 'a legend', and to his former cocaine dealer 'a tragic loss'.

Any gaps in his diary are inevitably filled by either all night sessions in chambers preparing for court or similarly lengthy sessions at his favourite brothel, simply referred to by those in the know as 'the Club' (here, Cleaver is more than happy to open his own wallet). He tends to wake up bruised. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually. Usually it's a combination thereof.

Something of a tour de force for the brilliant Roxburgh here as the anti-hero Cleaver Greene who for all his failings is still extremely likable. Lots of very big names popping up in guest roles too including the likes of Sam Neill, Rachel Griffiths, Hugo Weaving, Noah Taylor and Lisa McCune
