ReelzChannel Now that Thor is fading into the distance after nearly a month in theaters, Marvel Studios has shifted gears and put the pedal down on the promotional campaign for its next comic book movie, Captain America: The First Avenger, due in theaters July 22nd. On Tuesday, three new character posters featuring Captain America (Chris Evans), Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), and the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) were released. The following day, two action-packed new TV spots for the movie, each containing just a couple teasing seconds of new footage, made their broadcast debut. Now, both spots have been made available for online viewing. In addition to a few split-second action shots that we haven't seen before, the first TV spot contains a brief exchange between the sickly, pre-Captain America Steve Rogers (Evans) and Peggy Carter (Atwell).
Like the first TV spot, the second one contains just a few snippets of new action footage not seen in the trailer and also includes a new scene showing a blonde servicewoman expressing her gratitude to the now-buff Rogers from "the women of America."
The Captain America: The First Avenger cast includes Sebastian Stan as James "Bucky" Barnes, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark. The movie was written by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus and directed by Joe Johnston.
