The former Stokes County Correctional Facility was selected as a site for a portion of the upcoming theatrical length motion picture The Key Man. The Key Man is a crime drama about insurance fraud.
The Key Man features actor Hugo Weaving is also known as Elrond in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and as Agent Smith in The Matrix trilogy.
Actor Jack Davenport has played roles in many successful films and TV series, including The Talented Mr. Ripley, Coupling, and Ultraviolet and the recent box office smash Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and its sequels. Most notably, however, he is the deep voice behind the famous "For everything else, there's MasterCard" commercials.
Actress Carol Kane, best known for her portrayal of Simka Dahblitz-Gravas, wife of Latka Gravas (Andy Kaufman) on the television series Taxi.
Some of our own Stokes County "Folks" appear in the film as well. Acting as two of the guards at the prison are Carroll Dalton and Wayne Jessup, and Buford Jessup portrays a parole officer.
