CHICKENS and a glittering pig on a leash upstaged stars of the Australian film and TV industry at the Inside Film (IF) Awards on the Gold Coast tonight.
The makers of best short documentary-nominated film Rare Chicken Rescue brought some of their feathered co-stars along to enjoy the night as well as the glittered pig to add a touch of gold in the dress code.
Awards host Julia Zemiro opted for classic black and said the livestock would be a tough act to follow.
Gracie Otto sparkled in a sequined mini dress, accompanied by her father screen legend Barry Otto in an "antique suit".
Singer Kate Miller-Heidke stood out in green and black tulle while rocker Tex Perkins showed his softer side sporting a pink shirt under his white suit.
"It will take some kind of animal to upstage that," Zemiro said.
Underbelly stars Vince Colosimo, Marcus Graham and Angus Sampson looked suitably suave, and former Home And Away actor Justin Melvey accessorised with a dark golden tan.
The Black Balloon director Elissa Down shone in a gold toga.
Hugo Weaving, Oscar-winning producer Eva Orner and actress Sophie Lee also attended the awards, which are considered the people’s choice awards of the Australian screen industry.
The Gold Coast’s famous weather was nowhere to be seen as guests braved the wind and rain to get to the star-studded ceremony.
