A new TV spot — the third, if you’ve been keeping track — for Marvel Studios’ next big summer movie, Joe Johnston‘s Captain America: The First Avenger, has hit the airwaves and is now available for viewing online. The new TV spot shows more footage of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) getting his butt kicked as a pre-Captain America youth, and kicking the butts of Red Skull’s (Hugo Weaving) Nazi goon squad, HYDRA, and also shows a quick shot of the stealth bomber that we have good reason to believe factors into the climactic finale.
Captain America: The First Avenger is based on the classic superhero created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby that first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (March 1941). The screenplay was written by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus and tells the story of how Steve Rogers was turned down for service to his country only to become America’s first and only super-soldier during WWII after volunteering for a secret government experiment. The cast includes Sebastian Stan as James “Bucky” Barnes, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark and Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine.
