Voiceless awarded a total of $145,000 worth of grants and prizes at the Awards Event. Grants were given to a whole range of projects addressing a variety of animal protection issues including factory farming, animal experimentation, the link between livestock production and climate change, humane education and animal law.
2007 was yet another great year for the Voiceless Grants Program, culminating with a glamorous, red-carpet Awards Event at the Sydney Opera House. On Monday 3rd December, Voiceless announced its seventeen grant recipients for 2007, each of whom was presented with a glass award by Voiceless Ambassador, Hugo Weaving. Over 200 special guests attended the event to congratulate the 2007 grant recipients, as well as to enjoy a special vegan lunch created by celebrated Chef Guillaume Brahini at the Opera House restaurant, Guillaume at Bennelong.
This year the
Bio-Distributors is sponsoring a $10,000 grant towards a project aimed at issues associated with the production of farm animals in Australia.
Lush Cosmetics has also come on board as a grant sponsor in 2007. Lush will be sponsoring a $5,000 grant towards a project addressing the use of animal testing by the cosmetics industry.
