The Barbican is presenting Samuel Beckett’s ultimate tragi-comedy Waiting for Godot, from 2 to 21 June, as part of its International Beckett Season.
Australian screen and stage stars Richard Roxburgh, Hugo Weaving and Philip Quast draw out the vaudevillian energy, wild humour and poetry of Beckett’s writing.
Surrounded by a handsomely bleak set, suggestive of a charred, crumbling theatre, their shared endurance test is a touching reminder of humanity’s talent for resilience.
Time Out Sydney says: ‘Nothing happens. Nobody comes, nobody goes. It’s fantastic.’ Don’t wait for Godot to see if you agree.
Get top price tickets for just £30* (usually £40-£50) to see Sydney Theatre Company’s Waiting for Godot on all performances from 4 to 6 June, plus the matinee performance on 10 June.
